Festival of Lights welcomes visitors

KILLINGTON - The holiday spirit will shine bright this year in Killington as the community welcomes visitors with light displays through holiday season. Last year, over 25 businesses participated in the Festival of Lights.
This year marks the second annual festival organized in partnership with the Town of Killington, the Killington Chamber of Commerce and The Mountain Times. Last year the inaugural event debuted as a resurrection of the White Lights Contest held in Killington in decades past.
The Town of Killington will add decorations throughout the community at the West Hill intersection, on lamp posts on Killington Road, at the Municipal Offices and on the Killington Region sign.
All business owners are encouraged to show their holiday spirit by decorating their businesses with lights (white or colored). Participating businesses will compete for prizes and be judged by a panel Dec. 12-13. In addition to bragging rights, the winner will receive front page coverage in The Mountain Times Christmas week and an advertising package, a blackout season pass donated by Killington Resort and a plaque to be displayed at the business.
Dec. 11 is the deadline for businesses to complete their festive décor.
