The former St. Robert's Church will become the new town office,
decided Chittenden voters Tuesday. Additionally, voters passed all
town budgets including the highway budget, the cemetery budget and
the school budget.
But the town rejected an idea to build a shared-use public safety
building, by a 244-163 vote. The town rejection disallows
Chittenden to accept a $300,000 grant award to design and build a
shared-use public safety pathway. The grant required local matching
funds of $16,600 per year for the next five years.
