Killington voters cast ballot in record numbers Tuesday, March
6. 391 total ballots were cast, with 50 absentee ballots submitted.
The previous record for votes cast was 291 and last year saw just
250. This was the first year Killington voted by Australian
Ballot.
"It was a better turnout that I expected," said Killington Town
Clerk Lucrecia Wonsor. "It's defintetly something we hoped for.
Some might think we got more votes because of the Presidental
Primary this year, but actually, most voters were not tuned it to
that here and left it blank... Most of the voters were there to
vote on town issues."
About 120 people showed up to the informational meeting at the
Elementary School on Monday night, Wonsor estimated.
