Boat fire in Castleton, suspected arson

On April 28, 2012 at approximately 2 p.m. the Castleton Fire Department responded to a report of a boat on fire at a property located on VT RT 4A in East Castleton. Upon arrival they found a boat which had been stored on the property was fully involved. They were able to suppress the fire and prevent the adjacent boats and buildings from damage and from catching on fire as well. A request was made for assistance with the investigation into the origin and cause of this fire.

After an investigation was conducted it has been determined that this fire was a set fire and is being considered a criminal incident at this time. The boat, owned by Mike Davidson, was considered a total loss.
