"Why are all these bikers in town?"

The Americade Scavenger Hunt will pass through Killington during their annual celebration June 5-9 in Lake George. Motorcyclists will enjoy a weeklong festival while touring in the beautiful Adirondack and Green Mountains.

Celebrating their 30th year, Americade has become the world's largest multi-brand motorcycle touring rally. Local estimates indicate it attracts 50,000-100,000 annually, according to Americade.

Last year, because of the bikers, the Grist Mill was full for lunch every day of this week, says EDT Director Suzie Dundas anecdotally. She expects hundreds if not thousands of bikers to cross through town this week.

It is another good chance for Killington, and Vermont as a whole, "to welcome bikers to town and show off the fact that Irene is a thing of the past (at least in terms of road conditions,)" says Dundas. Adding: "Not only is this great for businesses in town, but it also will drive registration for The Killington Classic in September, we expect, as the Classic is now managed by Americade."
