The Marble Valley Player family is pleased to announce that
their "Baby", that is, their production of "Baby, the Musical",
is due on Nov. 2, 3, 9, & 10 at the West Rutland Town
Hall Theater. More people are needed to help with the delivery
of this production, both back stage and on-stage.
The play, written by Sybille Pearson with music by David Shire
and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr., first ran on Broadway from
1983 to 1984 and was nominated for Tony Awards for Best Musical and
Best Original score. The musical concerns three couples on a
college campus as they deal with the painful, rewarding, and
agonizingly funny consequences of conceiving a baby. Director Mitch
Rosengarten has cast Eric Korzun and Tegan Waite as the
college students; Frank Wright and Jen Page as the
thirty-somethings, having trouble conceiving; and Brian
Narkewicz and Kim Moyer as the middle aged parents looking
forward to their last child graduating from college. Gathering in
support of the three couples is a talented ensemble comprised
of Jessica Allen, Nathan Loso, Barb Kirk-Elkin, Jessie
Clayton, Emma Williams, Olivia Lane, Rose
Kennedy, Courtney Gandee, Beth Wolven, Bonnie Kelly and Randy
Kelly.
Two or more additional men (bass/baritones) are needed for the
ensemble. If you've always wanted to be on the stage, singing in a
small chorus or ensemble, there is a part for you. For more info
call Mitch at 818-470-5202 or email mrmitchlet@aol.com. Rather be
back stage? People to help with sound, props, set painting, etc.
are also needed. Just go to www.marblevalleyplayers.org. for more
info.
