Rutland
posted
Sep 19, 2012
On Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. children are
invited to a Sibshops gathering in the Education and Wellness
Center at Rutland Mental Health. Sibshops are for children aged
seven to 12, who are siblings of brothers and sisters who have
special needs.
Sibshops provide brothers and sisters (and even close friends)
an opportunity to meet other brothers and sisters who "know" what
it's like to be a sibling, have an opportunity to talk about, and
to listen to, others' concerns related to being a sibling of a
child with special needs, in a supportive non-judgmental
environment and to make new friends, learn new games, do crafts,
share a meal, and have a lot of fun.
Participants should dress comfortably and be ready for action!
Parents bring in $5 per child per session. Includes lunch.
Scholarships are available. RSVP: ARC Rutland Area at 802-775-1370
