Fair Haven Historical Society calls all bakers for the fourth
annual Apple Pie Contest, to take place at the Grade School Apple
Festival on Saturday, September 15 (rain date Sept. 22) in the Fair
Haven Park from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Everyone is eligible to enter a pie for the competition. There
will be two divisions: adult and children -under 12. All entries
must be brought to the booth by 11 a.m.; judging will be at
12-noon.
Rules for Entry:
Pies must be in disposable pans and covered with plastic
wrap.
Pies must be at least 8" in diameter.
Entry forms will be at the Historical Society Office, Edward Jones
on Main St, or the Historical Society booth the day of the
contest.
All pies become the property of the society. Immediately
following the contest, the pies will go on sale by the slice or
pie.
We are asking professional pie makers to donate a pie with their
business card or menu of their eatery. These pies must be at
the booth by 10 a.m. and will go on sale immediately. Look for
your favorite baker or restaurant.
The money earned from this event will go into a scholarship program
for High School Seniors. For more information call Lorraine at
