Rutland

Oct 10, 2012
The Rutland Cutting Edge women's hockey team is pleased to
announce their 3rd Annual Rutland Icebreaker Benefit Tournament.
The tournament will take place October 13-14 at the Spartan Arena
in Rutland. In the first two years the team raised over $6,500
benefiting Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sport and the Foley Cancer
Center Patient Care Fund at Rutland Regional Medical Center. This
year, all proceeds will benefit the Vermont Farmers Food Center
(VHFC).
The Vermont Farmers Food Center is a new, nonprofit organization
whose mission is to increase access and availability of locally
produced food through the development of infrastructure,
educational programs and food markets. VHFC plans to establish a
food related agricultural center by rehabbing a currently vacant
building that will house the Rutland winter farmers market, the
Community Cupboard and other food industry providers and serve as
an agricultural event center educating the public and promoting the
many forms of Vermont agriculture. Rutland Cutting Edge is very
pleased to support this amazing new organization.
This tournament will bring hockey teams from throughout New
England to our area for an exciting tournament. Please join us at
Spartan Arena for an opportunity to participate in our basket
raffles, watch some great women's hockey or to learn about our
Adult Learn-to-Play hockey program. Donations can be made at the
tournament or by mail.
