Killington Parks & Recreation has launched a new Winter Swim
Program beginning Monday, October 29. The grassroots swim program
has been established in Killington to help young athletes dive back
into the water to stay fit and fine tune their strokes during the
winter months.
In hopes to establish a USA Swimming Club open to all swimmers
in the Killington region, athletes will be coached by a USA
Swimming certified coach and an assistant coach.
The program will be comprised of two groups - one for ages 7-18
and one for ages 5-6, with practice being held for 14 weeks, from
Oct. 29 through Feb. 27. There will be no practices held on holiday
weeks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and President's Day). All
practices will be held at the Pico Pool at the Pico Sports Club on
Route 4 in Killington.
For ages 7-18, there will be practices held on Mondays, Tuesdays
and Wednesdays and participants have the flexibility to swim one,
two, or three of the days. On Mondays, practices will be held from
4-5 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays practices will be held from
3:30-5 p.m. For ages 5-6, there will be practice held on Mondays
from 3:20-4 p.m. Registration for this winter officially closed
Oct. 24 for this coming season.
