Stafford Technical Center is pleased to announce that Forestry,
Natural Resources and Horticulture Instructor, Mark Raishart, took
first place in the Landowner Class in the Game of Logging, Regional
Competition in Chester, Vt. on Sept. 1. In addition, he also placed
second in the Landowner Class in the Game of Logging National
Competition held in Cambridge, Ohio at the Paul Bunyan Show on Oct.
5.
Both competitions included events that focused on accuracy with
a chainsaw, as well as controlling the saw to make precise
cuts.
The Game of Logging (GOL) is widely acknowledged as the premier
timber harvesting training program in the country, offering hands
on training in a competitive environment. Top instructors across
the country combine demonstration with participation to teach
safety, productivity, conservation and cutting techniques.
