The 2012/2013 ski and snowboard season began at Okemo Mountain
Resort on Thursday, Nov. 8 - more than a week ahead of
schedule!
Okemo offers upper-mountain terrain for advanced skiers and
riders starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8. Two lifts will serve
four trails: Buckhorn, Count Down, Upper World Cup and Drop Off.
Two lifts will be running: Northstar Express and Glades Peak
Quad. Guests will be shuttled to the base of the
Northstar Express and will access the snow by riding up the
Northstar Express and skiing down to the Glades Peak lift. When
guests are done skiing, they will download on the Northstar
Express.
"This early opening is due to the extra effort and hard work
that our snowmaking and mountain operations staff have been doing
on the mountain," said Okemo Mountain Resort VP and General Manager
Bruce Schmidt. "Good snowmaking temperatures and the new snow gun
purchases have helped us get snow down on the upper mountain."
Opening lift ticket rates will be $39 for adults, $34 for young
adults (13-18) and seniors (65-69), $27 for juniors (7-12) and
super seniors (70+).
More information may be obtained by calling (802) 228-1600 or by
