- Downtown Rutland Partnership completes the first Annual Green-up Downtown Day
RUTLAND - The Downtown Rutland Partnership (DRP) May 3 announced
a successful Green-up day and extends its appreciation to
volunteers and donors.
On Friday, May 3, the Downtown Rutland Partnership organized the
first annual 'Green-up Downtown Day.' The event consisted of more
than 40 volunteers given assigned areas within the special benefits
"Volunteers came mostly from downtown businesses, but we also
had a great crew from The National Honor Society at Proctor High
School," said Laura Conti of DRP marketing.
"This will be an annual event to spring clean downtown Rutland,
each year, on the day before the state-wide Green-up Vermont
effort," Conti continued.
"I had a ton of comments from passersby saying it looked like
all of downtown was out cleaning and how much they appreciated the
effort. But the best part of the day was when Sal's Downtown
called and offered pizzas for the volunteers. It was great to
see the community working together," stated Conti.
