Elderly woman dies after medical complications caused by crash

STOCKBRIDGE - On July 1, during the evening hours, Doris Bowen, 91, of Rochester, Vt., a passenger in a single car motor vehicle crash that occurred on June 16 in Stockbridge died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. due to complications from injuries she sustained in the crash. The traffic crash investigation is on going.

The operator of the vehicle, Henry H. Maxham, 89, said that he had fallen asleep while driving home to Rochester. 

The crash had occurred at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, June 16 at 5993 Route 107 in Stockbridge. Both were wearing seatbelts.

At the time of the initial investigation, injuries to both patients were unknown but were not thought to be life threatening.
