Okemo celebrates summer with blueberry fest

Sunday, July 24 at 10 a.m.—LUDLOW—July is National Blueberry Month and Okemo Mountain Resort is celebrating with its second annual Blueberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, July 24.

Okemo’s family-friendly celebration of this healthy superfood will begin in the Jackson Gore Inn courtyard. Start the day with a blueberry pancake brunch, and lots of blueberry treats will be available from several vendors: New England Hot Fudge, Big Eyes Bakery, The Southern Pie Company, Gloria’s Pantry and Wildwood Berry Farm. Kids can make their own tie-dye T-shirt while singing along to the kid-friendly tunes of Mister Chris. A blueberry pie eating contest at 12:30 p.m. will be an event highlight. In the afternoon, a bus will depart for blueberry picking at a nearby pick-your-own farm. Seats are limited; call 802-228-1948 to reserve a seat.

Admission to the Mister Chris performance is free. The blueberry pancake brunch is $12 and T-shirt tie-dye is $12 for kids and $15 for adults. For more info, visit okemo.com.
