“I think I speak for every Rutland County legislator who has expressed support for Phil when I say that he is the right candidate for the job,” said Senator Flory (R-Rutland County). “While some of his opponents have spent thousands in an attempt to distort his record, Phil has run a positive campaign that puts Vermonters first. It’s time to change the paradigm from what it has been for the last six years; Phil will bring much needed patience and experience to Montpelier so that decisions are publicly informed and put Vermont back on a track toward economic growth,” Senator Flory added.

Senator Flory previously served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives from 1999 to 2010. She joined the Vermont State Senate in 2011.

“It’s an honor to have the support of Senator Flory and Rutland County Lawmakers, who have been fierce advocates for Rutland and Vermonters at large in their work in the Legislature,” said Scott. “They can be confident that, as Governor, I will make growing the economy my top priority, and will work tirelessly to make Vermont more affordable, reduce the barriers to job creation, and restore faith and trust in government.”

The Rutland County group joins the 45 other Republican legislators who have endorsed Scott for the state’s top position.
