“Academic Showdown” final four advance to semifinals

Proctor-Fair Haven on March 24; West Rutland-Otter Valley, March 31

RUTLAND–PEGTV’s new weekly half-hour quiz show “Academic Showdown,” featuring eight local high schools, wrapped up round one of competition last week and the winning teams have moved on to the semifinals.

Teams of three from Proctor Junior/Senior High School, Fair Haven Union High School, West Rutland School and Otter Valley Union High School have all advanced to the final four showdown. Proctor will face off against Fair Haven on March 24 and West Rutland will compete against Otter Valley on March 31. The winners will move on to the championship game which is set for April 7 to vie for the title, trophy and $500 contribution to their choice of school fund.

The show airs Thursday nights on PEGTV channel 20 at 7 p.m and is hosted by Mitch Golub.
