Awareness shines light on what is needed

By Cal Garrison, a.k.a. Mother of the Skye

This week’s Horoscopes are coming out under the light of a late Virgo, just about ‘Void-of-Course,’ and soon-to-be Libra Moon, that will be on its regular roll by 1:30 p.m. Projecting out toward the end of the week, the Moon will be full in Sagittarius by sundown on May 21, and the Sun will change signs, moving from Taurus to Gemini, at around the same time.

As far as “right now” is concerned, whenever the Moon approaches fullness, whatever we’ve shoved under the rug, gone into denial about, or refused to be accountable for in the last 28 days, needs to be addressed head on or it will wind up rearing its head in ways that totally put us in a bind.  It comes down to: don’t let your “stuff” run the show. Be just as aware of what other people’s “stuff” has to say about who you get to be and what you get to do. Don’t let your “stories” overtake the deeper wish to remember that you are not your story and the bigger part of you is doing everything in its power to help you transcend it.

A beautiful Grand Trine is happening on the Earth Axis. Grand Trines are the astrological ‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo.’ They show up when things are going well. A Grand Trine in the Earth element generates the ability to take care of ourselves. Sometimes it sets conditions up that make it easier to take care of ourselves even when times are tough. Necessity is the mother of invention and very often the “need” to take care of ourselves is what generates the muscle that knows how to do so. Pay attention to the extent to which your self-reliance either connects you to, or alienates you from, other people.

Other aspects between Saturn and the Lunar Nodes tell me that we are still tied up in ways that restrict our creativity and freedom of expression. We can’t keep basing our choices and actions on the constructs that we were led to believe would work for us in the past. The essence of this transit also begs us to look at the extent to which our inner and outer realities have something to do with each other. Any disparity challenges us to look at our situation and step up our ability to connect/align with the truth.

That possibility will be enhanced by or before Mercury turns direct on May 22. Until then, we will be susceptible to mechanical failure and communication snafus. At the weekend comes to a close, what has yet to be fixed or made right could leave us subject to forces that make it hard to recover before the seasons change. Those of us who are too invested in controlling situations will have a tough time letting go. The risk of being held up by parasitic people is huge for many of us. Learning how to say “no”, and knowing enough to only help those who are honestly willing to help themselves, could be the Mantra for anyone who considers themselves to be a sucker for a sob story.

I could say something about what happens when the Sun shifts from Taurus to Gemini, but let’s save that for next week. That’s it for now. I hope that the good aspects keep your spirits up, that the so-called ‘bad aspects’ keep you on your toes, that the ebb and flow of the lunar tides takes you close enough to the edge to see past the limits that restrict you now, and that you find something useful in this week’s ‘scopes.
