Bread and Puppet Theater’s 2020 circus playing through August

GLOVER— Bread and Puppet Presents: “The Insurrection – Resurrection Service Circus,” summer 2020’s contribution to the iconic tradition of B&P circuses. Flag dancers, stiltwalkers and the whole roaring, squawking menagerie of paper-mache beasts and divinities attempt to speak to the heart of the current situation.

“‘Insurrection Resurrection Service Circus’ is a service for citizens, aliens and immigrants alike to demonstrate the ills that inspire uprising against incompetent government and the tragedies that result from that incompetence and call for resurrection. The frequently changing acts of the circus are performed in a former gravel pit turned amphitheater with ample space for audiences to respect distancing. Bread and aioli will also be served in compliance with distancing rules” said Break and Puppet founder Peter Schumann.

The show will be performed every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. through the end of August at the Bread and Puppet Farm, 753 Heights Rd. in Glover, VT. Admission is $10. Additional donations welcome. Tickets available only online at breadandpuppet.org.
