Castleton University pledges affordability for Vermont students

Castleton University’s commitment to educating Vermont students recently took another step forward in the form of a guaranteed scholarship available to all Community Colleges of Vermont graduates. The Transfer Success Scholarship is designed to bring the cost of Castleton tuition in line with that of CCV, providing a strong incentive for CCV graduates to continue their education.

Castleton President Dave Wolk said, “We believe that affordable higher education is a key to the future success of our state. This scholarship, in addition to being the only public institution in the state to freeze tuition for the upcoming year, is a strong step in that direction.”

An articulation agreement between CCV and Castleton has granted admission to all CCV graduates for a number of years and the recent addition of the scholarship strengthens the partnership and forms a collaboration within the Vermont State Colleges system.

“Forty-eight percent of CCV students continue their education beyond an associate’s degree, and we’re very excited that more graduates will be able to pursue an affordable four-year degree at Castleton …” said CCV president Joyce Judy. “While our students were already guaranteed admission to Castleton, this program provides them another option for reaching their educational goals.”
