Saturday, July 16 at 3:30 p.m. — KILLINGTON — The New Rhythms and Blues Quartet (NRBQ) hits the summer concert stage on Saturday, July 16 beginning at 3:30 p.m. NRBQ’s free show at the Snowshed Adventure Center kicks off the Town of Killington’s 7th annual Cooler in the Mountains summer concert series presented by Long Trail Brewing.

The New Rhythm and Blues Quartet is a world famous American rock band founded in 1966. The band is well-known for the spontaneity of its live performances, incorporating elements of rock, pop, jazz and blues. In its 50+ year history, NRBQ has produced a long list of hit albums and have had its songs performed by many well-known artists including Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, and Dave Edmunds. Each show is unique with a diverse blend of both originals and cover material, including audience requests. NRBQ has developed a devoted following from its many years of live shows and, after seeing the band perform, it’s easy to see why.

Cooler in the Mountains concerts are free, family-friendly events scheduled on Saturday afternoons from July 16 until Sept. 5. The concerts take place at Killington Resort’s Snowshed Adventure Center, home of the 4,800 foot Beast Mountain Coaster, high ropes course, zip rides, and the Killington Bike Park. As an added feature, everyone in attendance will have a chance to win an unlimited 2016-17 Killington season pass. Concert-goers are encouraged to come early to enjoy the Snowshed Adventure Center, and enjoy dinner after the show at one of many great restaurants in Killington. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and the family to a spot on the lawn to enjoy the music. The next concert in the series is on July 23, and features the Oh Hellos.
