Fair Haven asks residents to dress the park for the fall

FAIR HAVEN—Judy Sheldon, Judi Sutherland, Ceil Hunt, Cindy Pritchard and Lorraine Brown are working along with the town to add a little fall flare in our beautiful downtown Fair Haven Park. This project involves dressing up stick figures and placing them around the park. They are asking that the community to help dress figures. The committee will display them around the park from the last week in September through early November.  This is not a contest, but a way to bring smiles and happiness to the community and passers-by. The frames are free, but if anyone would like to make a small donation, they are gratefully accepted.

Participants can pick up wooden frame for the stick figures from Cindy at Finders Keepers during store hours. The decorated figures for display in the park need to be returned to the town office the week of Sept. 17-21. There can be no writing or logos on the clothing and all attire must be appropriate for family viewing. If you want the clothing returned, they will arrange for pick-up.

The wooden stick figures installed around the park will be salvaged for next year. You may make your own figures for your own property as well to join in the fun. When entering your figure, they will be asking for your name and if you would like to give your figure or character a name that would be great as well!

Organizers ask that no figures be attached to utility poles. Attaching metal objects, even staples, can cause harm to workers, rip their gloves and clothing and has the potential to electrocute someone. For more information contact Finders Keepers at 61 Main St. in Fair Haven. 802-278-8196.
