Financing forum for entrepreneurs to be held in Rutland

Thursday, Feb. 25 at 12 p.m. — RUTLAND —  Members from the private and government sector are hosting a public forum about financing for local small businesses owners from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at Castleton Downtown at 67 Merchants Row in Rutland.

“Whether you are looking to start a small business or are in business, this is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn about a variety of financing options from local lenders,” said Kevin Morehouse, Small Business Administration.

Topics include traditional lending, microloans, government guarantees, the Rutland Economic Development Corporation revolving loan fund and more. The financing forum is cosponsored by the REDC with assistance from the Small Business Administration.

Also present will be representatives from the Vermont Economic Development Authority, Vermont Community Loan Fund, Community Capital of Vermont, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Vermont Small Business Development Center. Each will explain how their respective organization has assisted small businesses in the region and how their loan programs work.

Attendees can meet with representatives one-on-one following the meeting.
