Dec. 6 & 7 — WOODSTOCK — Freelance Family Singers will present a holiday concert at the First Congregational Church, 36 Elm Street, Woodstock at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Under the direction of Ellen Satterthwaite, the chorus will present seasonal sacred and secular pieces in choral, small group, solo, and instrumental formats. Choral pieces will include “Gloria in Excelsis” from Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” the Appalachian folk song, “Jesus, Jesus Rest Your Head,” and the choreographed “Jingle Bells Through The Ages.” Refreshments will follow the family friendly concerts. Sponsored by the Woodstock Recreation Department and other local supporters, the concerts are free, with a donation of an item for the community food shelf suggested.
