GMC Theater presents late fall production of “The Flick”

Dec. 9-10 at 7 p.m.—POULTNEY—The Green Mountain College Theater Department presents “The Flick,” a black box production written by Annie Baker and directed by GMC theater professor Paula Mann. Performances are Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10 at 7 p.m. in the College’s Ackley Hall.
“The Flick” was produced by Playwrights Horizons in New York City in 2013 and won the Pulitzer Prize in 2014. It’s a dramatic comedy about three underpaid young employees of a run-down movie theater in Worcester, Mass., who are trying to find some meaningful connection with each other through movies. Publisher Samuel French writes: “Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the second-run movies on screen.”
Cast members are Green Mountain College students Cassius Belfon, 2017; Tom Fredericks, 2019; Kira Hamilton, 2020; and Colton Everett, 2020. Performances are free for all GMC students, staff and faculty and $5 for the general public.
