Runners take off for the trails at the start of a 10K at Blueberry Hill Inn.

GOSHEN — Traveling from all over New England, the Mid-Atlantic and Canada there will be much anticipation in the air as this year’s pack of contenders line up for the start of the Goshen Gallop 10K race at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18.

The rugged course takes the runner on the dirt and gravel roads of Goshen and onto a packed soil surface up to elevations between 1,800- and 2,100-feet above sea level following the Nordic cross-country ski trails of Blueberry Hill Inn, set in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area of the Green Mountain National Forest. It’s an exciting and challenging event that welcomes runners of all abilities.

And it’s not just a race, but a great party, too. For over 35 years the philosophy of the Goshen Gallop has been to stress the fun of the event by including great music, fantastic food and celebrated friendships.

This year doesn’t stop short of having a good time complete with music to dance to and a delicious barbecue picnic held after the race—and bring swim suits for a dip in the pond!

Registration fees include entry into the 5K or 10K race, a goodie bag, and the barbecue meal. Tickets for the barbecue are also available for spectators.

Blueberry Hill Inn is located at 1245 Goshen-Ripton Road, Goshen.
