“House of Cards” shuffles it up

Friday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. — BRANDON — It’s a special occasion when the Brandon Artist Guild (the BAG) has the opportunity to showcase the artwork of one of its founding members. Warren Kimble, the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts this past year, will be presenting “House of Cards,” a show of his latest work, featuring assemblages with a witty twist. Although Kimble is best known for his folk art style, he constantly reinvents himself. This show will delight and offend with its fresh use of vintage objects. “House of Cards” will be on display at Brandon Artists Guild from Sept. 5 through Nov. 4. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited.

Brandon Artists Guild is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The Gallery is located at 7 Center St., Brandon. Visit them on the web at www.brandonartistsguild.com.
