In pursuit, driver tops speeds of 128 mph

SHARON—On Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2:25 p.m., police witnessed a vehicle, traveling approximately 90 miles per hour, weaving in and out of traffic and driving aggressively on Interstate 89N, in Sharon, Vt., in the area of mile marker 9. The trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop near mile marker 10, but the vehicle failed to stop and sped up to speeds topping at 128 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone.

At mile marker 16.5, the vehicle pulled over and the operator, Austin Spain, age 20 of Bow, N.H., was placed under arrest for attempting to elude, a felony, and gross negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was released with a criminal citation for to appear in court on Oct. 27.
