Join Traditional Craft Saturdays at Billings Farm

Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m.—WOODSTOCK—Billings Farm & Museum, gateway to Vermont’s rural heritage, will host Traditional Craft Saturdays each Saturday in September, from  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors are invited to explore a series of Vermont crafts—their history, process, and uses—through informal learning and discovery. A different craft will be featured each week.
Saturday, Sept. 3 will feature quilting with the Billings Farm & Museum staff. In celebration of the 30th annual Quilt Exhibition, the staff will demonstrate the basics of hand quilting. Visitors are invited to try hand quilting, piecing, and designing a quilt.
Future Saturdays include: Sept. 10, Stenciling with Polly Forcier, Quechee; Sept. 17, Quilling with Marianne Fassett, Enfield, N.H.; Sept. 24, the Farm & Museum will host the VT Woodworkers Forest Festival Weekend on Sept. 24 & 25.
On Traditional Craft Saturdays, the operating dairy farm, farm life exhibits, restored and furnished farmhouse, plus programs and activities are included in the entrance fee.
Billings Farm is an operating Jersey dairy farm that continues a 145-year tradition of agricultural excellence and offers farm programs and historical exhibits that explore Vermont’s rural heritage and values. The Farm & Museum has served as a gateway to Vermont’s rural heritage for over a million visitors and 100,000 of the region’s school children. Open daily April 1 through Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends November through February, and Christmas and Presidents’ weeks, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission: adults, $14; 62 and over, $13; children 5-15, $8; 3-4, $4; 2 and under, free. The Farm & Museum is located one-half mile north of the Woodstock village green on Vermont Route 12.
