KILLINGTON–A new AT&T cell tower has sprung up behind the Pickle Barrel Nightclub and Sushi Yoshi on Killington Road.

In 2014, when the 100-foot tower was in planning phases, the Killington Select Board discussed two asthetic options for the tower: disguising the pole as a pine tree or a decorative tower with the town’s logo on the top. The Board decided on the latter tower.

Selectman Chris Bianchi reasoned, “Since we can’t hide it, we should make the most of it.”

The town approved the final design, and AT&T will maintain the structure. The tower will improve data service in the business district, according to AT&T.
