Killington Ski Club rolls out bike swap on Memorial weekend, with stage race

New and consignment sales for biking enthusiasts

KILLINGTON—The first annual Beast of a Bike Swap is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend at Killington Mountain, May 27-29.

The bike swap is scheduled to coincide with the longstanding Killington Stage Race and opening weekend of the Killington Bike Park. These holiday weekend events create an atmosphere of family-friendly cycling fun for road and mountain cyclists alike.

“This is going to be New England’s largest bike swap,” said Chris Clarke, Killington Ski Club president. “We have so much going on during this holiday weekend between mountain biking at the resort bike park to the Stage Race there will be thousands of bike fanatics coming to Killington for the weekend.”

In addition to used bikes sold on consignment, the Beast of a Bike Swap will offer new bikes, parts and accessories, apparel and more, through independent retailers and local and regional brands’ pop-up stores.

Retailers may either rent booth space at the swap and set up a pop-up store, or deliver new and used items for consignment by bike swap staff.

The event is free and open to the public during the following hours:

  • Friday, May 27 4 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 28 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 29 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

In addition to the stage race and lift-assisted downhill trail riding, food, drink and live music throughout will create a bicycle-festival atmosphere.

Event proceeds benefit Killington Ski Swap, which offers recreational skiing and racing instruction, development programs, and scholarships to junior athletes.

Information about the event including drop-off and pick-up times for consignments can be found at www.killingtonbikeswap.com.
