KMS alpine athletes take the podium

KILLINGTON—With winter weather finally cooperating, Killington Mountain School alpine athletes were happy to be back on the race circuit here in the U.S. The U19s headed to Waterville Valley earlier this month, where KMS student-athlete Jake Jenkins took the top spot in the men’s slalom. Tommy Shantler had a great race as well, taking the eighth place spot. The U16 and U19 men also raced in at GS at Stratton this Monday, with Bo Underhill taking 12th, PJ Bovaconti in 16th, and John Bianchi in 17th.

PG athlete Ryan Znamierowski had a great day at Sugarloaf over the weekend, where he was the second U19 in the men’s Eastern Cup slalom race.

The U19/21 girls were in Canada for four days of racing, where Ava Mattsson took 13th overall (second US finisher) in a GS at Mont Tremblant and Lily Hogan had a top twenty overall finish in a slalom race at Saint-Saveur.

Several of the U16 girls were in Stratton on Jan. 11 for the Rebecca Ann McGill Memorial GS. Mazie Hayden moved from bib #47 to take tenth place overall, Bella Amico from 75 to 11th, and Francesca Castellini from 73 to 20th.
