Lady Saints look for win to maintain No. 1 ranking

By: Justin Lemanski, Athletics Reporter

On the women’s side, Vermont Tech is 6-15 overall and 5-5 in the YSCC. They are led by senior Paige Wells, who is averaging 13.1 points per game. Vermont Tech will be looking to move up in the conference with a win against the USCAA leading Saints.

The Lady Saints know teams will be coming after them as they hold the top spot. If the Saints can continue to play team basketball they should be in good position to get the win.

Look for Chontayvia Kennedy and Regina Steele to put up big numbers, as the two combine for close to 40 points per game for the Saints. Regina Steele continues to be a force for the Lady Saints with her name appearing all over the USCAA Div. II leaderboards. She is first in blocked shots and field goal percentage, third in points, second in field goals, and second in rebounds.

Both games of the doubleheader will be streamed live by STCN.

Both teams will be back at home with a doubleheader the next night against Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Those games begin at 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men on Thursday, Feb. 5.
