Noted Rutland musicians team up for concert

Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.—WEST RUTLAND—Two popular Rutland singer-songwriters will team up to present an evening of rock, roots and original music. George Nostrand and Phil Henry will each bring his own band to West Rutland. The two bands, George’s Back Pocket and Phil Henry and the News Feed, will present a concert at the West Rutland Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. (Doors open  at 7 p.m.)

Nostrand and Henry have been friends and collaborators for many years. Henry has produced albums and videos with Nostrand, while Nostrand, in turn, has consulted with and aided Henry in promotion and music business. They are both active musicians – writing, recording, and performing original music and fronting ensembles, but have rarely shared the stage together.

“Together we both get to highlight the talent in our respective bands,” said Nostrand. “And we have the chance to showcase our original material to a supportive audience.”

“I love the West Rutland Town Hall,” said Henry. “It harkens to a time when a community would gather together to experience something together – government, theater, or in our case, music. The acoustics and history make it a great place for a concert.”

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and are available at brownpapertickets.com. The West Rutland Town Hall is located at 35 Marble St. in West Rutland.
