Pico begins season, offers Cyber Monday deal and “food-raiser”

KILLINGTON — On Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, Pico Mountain will open for the 2015-16 winter season with the third iteration of a special promotion to provide food for low-income Vermonters, teaming up with local nonprofit organization BROC-Community Action in Southwest Vermont, which provided over 40,000 meals to Vermonters in need last year. By partnering with BROC, Pico Mountain and its skiers and snowboarders are able to contribute to the fight against hunger in the local community.

Discounted single-day lift tickets will be available all weekend at the Pico Ticketing Sales Center. With a donation of three non-perishable food items, one-day lift tickets will be just $29 for all ages (regularly $72), plus a complimentary voucher for a ride on Killington’s new Beast Mountain Coaster will also be included.

“We’re thrilled to partner with BROC for the third year in a row,” said Tracy Taylor, director of operations for Pico Mountain, “At Pico we strive to support our community in every way possible and this ‘food-raiser’ allows our guests to get involved and give back while enjoying their first turns of the season.”
