Relay for Life drives-thru the Vermont State Fairgrounds

Saturday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m.—RUTLAND—The Relay For Life of Rutland County will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8 starting at 6 p.m.  Teams will follow an easy driving route at the Vermont State Fairgrounds, and are invited to decorate their vehicles with a Dr. Seuss theme and/or purple, the color that represents all types of cancers, while celebrating and remembering loved ones who’ve been lost to the disease. The evening will end with a luminaria ceremony starting at 9 p.m. Luminaria bags honoring cherished survivors will light the way as participants exit.

A few important things to know:

Everyone will stay in their vehicle unless accessing the food truck area. Masks required for anyone outside of a vehicle.

No lap walking this year, you will drive through a marked course which ends in front of the movie screen.

Luminaria ceremony starts at 9 p.m. on the movie screen.
