Rodrigue, a breath of fresh air in Montpelier

Dear Editor,
I’m writing in support of Korrine Rodrigue for Senate.  As a longtime member of Project VISION, I’ve witnessed Rodrigue’s dedication and hard work as we tackled the variety of issues that affect the greater-Rutland area – and towns across America.
Looking back four years to a time when crime was growing and desperation associated with heroin put the entire region at risk, Rodrigue, along with Police Chief Jim Baker, led what has become a remarkable turnaround.  Their focus on data-driven policing and community development through Project VISION helped slash crime rates, improve the quality of life, and inspired new projects like Rutland Blooms, community block parties and demolition and reconstruction of trouble properties.
Looking back, the feeling of hopelessness was almost palpable, while the progress in Rutland today seems remarkable.  There is still much to be done, but Korrine’s leadership has been invaluable to the entire region.
Korrine’s focus on real issues – and more importantly – real solutions based on real data, would be a breath of fresh air in Montpelier.  I will be voting for Korrine Rodrigue in November.
