Rutland Dismas House holds 26th annual dinner and auction

Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. — RUTLAND — The Rutland Dismas House dinner and auction will be held on May 1 at 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Rutland. Gloria Englund will be the keynote speaker and Marlene Burke will be honored with the Jack Hickey Award. Englund, a certified recovery coach, psychotherapist and advocate for individuals and families dealing with active addictions, is the founder of Recovering u and is the author of “Living in the Wake of Addiction.”

Burke, a longtime volunteer, a former president and a member of the board of directors at Dismas House, is being honored for her dedication and long hours of volunteer service to Dismas and the Rutland community.

The Rutland Dismas House is a non-profit organization that provides transitional housing for men and women serving a prison sentence who are eligible for release to an approved residence and do not have any other approved housing options nor any income.
