Rutland Rec Department holds slacklining and fishing events

May 8 and 9 — RUTLAND — On Friday, May 8 from 5:30-7 p.m., join Cindi and Keith Wight at Giorgetti Park to learn the fun and benefits of slacklining. There will be four slacklines set up to play on. If you have a slackline, bring it with you to set up more lines. All ages are welcome and families are encouraged! Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy a healthy night out at this free event.

Then, on Saturday, May 9, the Rutland Kiwanis Club and the Rutland Recreation & Parks Department will be hosting a special fishing day for children up to age 13 from 8:30-11 a.m. at Combination Pond. A parent or guardian must accompany the child. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. Prizes are awarded in various categories. Fish will be provided by the Vermont Fish & Game Dept.
