Rutland Rec Dept. begins new fall classes; soccer starts!

Strength training

Burn the fat and feed the muscle! Instructor John Scaralia will take you a through a specially designed program with proven principles of progressive weight training and nutrition for maximum muscle building. Next session starts Sept. 29 and runs Tuesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 29.

Rock climbing

We offer a wide range of levels from beginner to advanced. Staff from the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center will assist you in learning all aspects of climbing. Register today to secure your spot. Session 1 begins Sept. 16.

Soccer, soccer, soccer!

Saturday soccer season is upon us! Soccer programs for pre-K through sixth grade are now available for registrations. Programs will begin on Saturday, Sept. 12. Instructional soccer for pre-K-second graders will focus on the basics followed by small sided play and will feature fun, skill-oriented games. This program is only successful with the assistance of the parents. Cost to participate for pre-K through K is $41 for city residents and $52 for non-residents. Cost for first and second graders is $47 for city residents and $58 for non-residents.

Third-sixth graders will be in a full house league with games played mostly on Saturday afternoons and occasionally on a Monday or Wednesdayevening and will play area towns. Cost to participate is $52 for city residents and $63 for non-residents.

Art programs

Hands On Minds On Art Studio is offering a variety of fun art programs this fall starting Friday, Sept. 11! Just for Twos studio for ages 2-3; Independent Art Start for ages 2 ½-3 ½; pre-school programs for ages 3 ½-5; after-school art for grades K-3; Imagination Station for ages 4 and up, plus programs for homeschoolers.
