Rutland Rec offers holiday festivities

Saturday, Dec. 6 — RUTLAND — Join Rutland Recreation Department for a holiday clay ornament-making festive activity on Saturday, Dec. 6 and 13 at Hands On Minds On, 69 Center Street, Rutland. The first Saturday will be making four ornaments using clay and cookie cutters and the second Saturday will be glazing (painting) them. Both workshops are required in order to complete ornaments. All ages are welcome! Children preschool and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Hand-made one-of-a-kind ornaments make great gifts. They will be ready to pick up by Dec. 18. The two-day workshop includes: instruction, clay, tools, firings, and glazes (paints). There will be lots of designs/cookie cutters to choose from. Preregistration is required. $20 for two workshops and four ornaments, and more ornaments can be done with an additional $3 per ornament fee.

Also, special arrangements have been made to transfer phone calls from Santa in the North Pole to Rutland City children on Thursday, Dec. 11 between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Visit rutlandrec.com to fill out a special Santa’s Elf form, or stop by the office at 16 North Street Extension.
