Shakespeare company holds auditions for “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”

Saturday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. — BRANDON — Shakespeare on Main Street is holding auditions for its 2016 summer production of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead,” by Tom Stoppard. The play manages to combine Laurel and Hardy, “Who’s on First,” and Shakespeare.

Actors (18+ years of age) wanting to audition should prepare a one-minute monologue from the play, or a comparable monologue. It does not need to be memorized – just well prepared.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at the following locations:
Brandon, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Brandon Town Hall, 2417 Franklin Street (just off Route 7), Brandon

Rutland, 12:30 to 2p .m. at Rhythm Hall, Building 5, 2nd Floor, Howe Center, 1 Scale Avenue, Rutland

Danby, 3 to 4:30 p.m. at 308 South Main Street, Danby

Rehearsals begin in June. “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” will open in Manchester on Friday, July 22 with three performances that weekend. The following weekend, there will be three performances in Brandon.

Those unable to attend the auditions may submit an MP4 video, or a YouTube video and send MP4 file or YouTube link to info@ShakespeareonMainStreet.org.
