Delaney Woods: last push to complete “Bearded Hen” trail

Monday, June 22 at 4 p.m.—WELLS—Slate Valley Trails (SVT) is excited to offer its second community trail work day of the season on a trail that was worked on extensively last summer. With a small bit of effort from a focused trail work session, we can get the “Bearded Hen” to its finished state. Come chip in, and bring a bike (or wear your hiking boots) to tour the trail after we are done.

This project is a true community venture with collaboration among Slate Valley Trails, local landowners, local businesses, and the town of Wells.

The volunteer trail work day will be on Monday, June 22 from 4  to 7:30 p.m. meeting at the Delaney Woods kiosk and parking on East Delaney Cross Road in Wells, which is located across the road from the Wells Lakeside Park.

No trail building experience necessary.  Stay for as long as you can.  Bring your own work gloves, water, face mask/covering. Please consider bringing your own tools if you have them, but we will have tools on hand. Work to be done includes: mounting signage, weed whacking, trimming back growth, some rock armoring, and more.

We will be abiding by the most recent state of Vermont and CDC guidelines for trail work and social distancing, including but not limited to: limiting group sizes, wearing masks/buffs, social distancing, and disinfecting tools.

Please RSVP by emailing info@slatevalleytrails.org. Additional questions can be directed to Bill Alexander at 802- 236-4571.
