Swing dancing classes again offered in Brandon

Thursday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. — BRANDON — Instructor David Allan will teach beginner and intermediate level swing dance courses at Brandon Music.

Classes will be held on Thursdays, March 24, 31, April 7 and 14. The beginner class runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; the intermediate class from 8 to 9 p.m.

David Allan teaches the proper posturing and connections and six to 12 basic six-count swing patterns in the beginner class. The intermediate class will learn Charleston eight-count moves and how to combine East Coast Swing with Lindy hop. Intermediate class participants will need to have taken the beginner class or have equivalent experience.

Allan learned to swing dance from the top dance instructors in the country while living in San Francisco in the 1990s. He runs Green Mountain Stomp Swing Dancing, teaching and organizing swing dances and has taught for eight years in communities and colleges throughout the Champlain Valley.

The fee is $45 for one four-week series; $75 per couple per series; or $75 for an individual to take both series. Register by March 18 by contacting 802-247-4295 or info@cmacvt.org.
