“The Case of the Slip-pary Selectman”

Dear Editor,

This past Tuesday during “Citizens’ Concerns,” Pat Linnemayr brought up the subject of the West Hill Slip Road. She, like many of the citizens of Killington, want to keep the slip road.

Last year, in just two days Vito Rasenas collected over 100 names on a petition to keep the road, and I collected over 50 names which were submitted to the Board. No comment was received. One person on the Board summarily dismissed Linnemayr’s request for a hearing, with a condescending, take it or leave it attitude, saying, “If you don’t like the way we do it, you can vote us out and elect someone else.”

I’m not going to discuss the pros and cons of the Slip Road here, but who does the Selectboard work for, their own agenda or the people of Killington?

Richard Kropp, Killington
