Trail of the week: “Labyrinth”

By Tony Accurso

Labyrinth, is a fun, super technical trail located in the Green Mountain Trails system in Pittsfield Vt. This trail was completed in 2008 in one day by 12 volunteers. It is situated in a small pine forest near the mountain summit, and can be accessed at the intersection of the Green Trail and Warman at one end, or at the top intersection of Fusters and the fire road on the other. Riding this trail requires good balance, explosive power, and the ability to push and pull one’s bike. Pedal stroke timing is key, as the terrain is essentially full of super tight turns in a mogul field of roots, rocks and dirt mounds. Although short in length, riding this trail is a workout! This trail rides well in both directions, although I prefer riding it from Fusters to Warman. Although classified and posted as a double black diamond trail, I would invite riders of all skill levels to give it a try. Connect Labyrinth with Warman, Stonewall and Noodles Revenge for a killer descent!
