Victory caps off 23-0 season for the boys basketball team

The undefeated Woodstock Wasps boy’s basketball team finished a perfect season winning the Division II championship, Saturday, March 7 over the Enosburg Hornets. It was the Woodstock team’s first championship since 1999 and their fifth in school history. With their perfect season, the Wasps recorded the 16th undefeated season in the state since 1972, when the Vermont Principals Association started tracking win-loss records.

Enosburg has never won the state championships despite making it to the Final Four 11 times in the past 11 years, six of which they also made it to the finals.

The Wasps came out victorious with a 65-56 win at the Barre Auditorium.

Senior Kurt Ryder scored a team-high 25 for the Wasps, followed closely by senior Connor Fegard who scored 24 points for the game.

Enosburg Hornets sophomore Calvin Carter scored the game-high with 34 points, including four 3-pointers.
