Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum’s fourth annual Lip Sync Battle goes online

RUTLAND—Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum, Rutland’s very own children’s museum located in the heart of downtown, has hosted the Lip Sync Battle at the Paramount Theatre for the past three years as its largest annual fundraiser. With coronavirus cancelling events all over the country, the team at Wonderfeet has gotten creative about how to continue the tradition by taking the event online and opening up the competition to everyone in the community. Past year’s lineups have included performers from Aldermans, GE, Headstart, Rutland Regional Medical Center, Rutland Recreation and many museum supporters. This year, the competition is open to everyone – businesses, service groups, friends and families – who will submit videos of themselves dancing, lip syncing, and acting out their favorite songs to our voting website. The community can then “vote” by making donations on each entry’s page. The team that raises the most money wins!

The winning  team will receive the coveted Lip Sync Battle trophy and will be honored in Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum with a plaque listing them as an exhibit sponsor. Rutland Regional Medical Center has once again signed on as a presenting sponsor and Carris Reels is the Golden Mic sponsor. Businesses can contribute as well by being a website sponsor and supporting Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum – an important part of the Downtown Rutland landscape and the vitality of Rutland County.

“This event has been a highlight for everyone who has participated in the past. We just couldn’t let it go. With the popularity of apps like Tik Tok, it just made sense for us to give it a try online,” Laura Pierce, event organizer said.

Teams can submit videos through Sept. 20 and voting will go live on Sept. 25. For information about sponsoring or participating in this event contact Danielle Monroe at ed@wkmvt.org

All proceeds will benefit Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum, located at 11 Center St. in Rutland. For more information call 802-282-2678 or visit WonderfeetKidsMuseum.org  or follow them on Facebook.
